Digital planners are crowded. “Planner” on its own is a hard keyword for a beginner shop. An ADHD digital planner is a smaller, clearer niche, because the buyer knows exactly what problem they want solved.
I’ll say this up front: I’m not a doctor and a planner doesn’t treat anything. What a good planner can do is make planning feel less overwhelming for people who struggle with long to-do lists, blank calendars, and rigid systems. That’s a design problem, and design problems are what Canva is for.
The direct answer: an ADHD digital planner is a planner built around low-friction layouts: a short daily page, a “top 3” focus box, a brain dump page, a timer-friendly task list, and lots of white space. You can build one in Canva in a weekend, export it as a hyperlinked PDF, and sell it on Etsy for $8 to $20. The trick is making it simpler than the planners people already own.
If you’re new to planners in general, start with my guide on how to make a digital planner in Canva for the basics, then come back here for the niche angle.
What Is an ADHD Digital Planner?
An ADHD digital planner is a planner file (usually a hyperlinked PDF used in apps like GoodNotes or Notability) designed with simple layouts, clear sections, and fewer steps per page, so planning feels manageable instead of heavy. It’s not a medical product. It’s a planning tool.
Typical features:
- Daily page with a “top 3” instead of a 20-line to-do list
- Brain dump page to get everything out of your head first
- Time blocks that are flexible, not rigid hour-by-hour grids
- Habit and routine trackers with big, easy check boxes
- Reset pages for when you fall off the wagon (this one sells planners, trust me)
- Hyperlinked tabs so you can jump around without hunting
I have a longer explainer on the product itself here: ADHD digital planner.
Is There Demand for an ADHD Digital Planner?
Yes. The CDC reported that an estimated 15.5 million US adults (6.0%) had a current ADHD diagnosis in 2023, based on a national survey run in October and November 2023. That’s a big group, and it doesn’t count people who plan like this without a diagnosis.
On the platform side, Etsy had about 86.5 million active buyers as of Q4 2025, and digital downloads are one of its fastest-growing categories. Canva has about 260 million monthly active users and 21 million paying subscribers (2025), so the tool you need to build this is something you most likely already use.
And Google Search Console shows it for my own site: queries like “adhd digital planners” and “what is adhd digital planner” are already bringing impressions with almost no content aimed at them. That’s the sign of a gap.
A reality check, since you asked me to be direct with you: demand doesn’t mean easy. Etsy has lots of ADHD planners already. You win by being specific (a niche within the niche), by making a sample page that looks calm, and by explaining clearly what’s inside. Don’t try to be the biggest planner. Be the clearest.

What Pages Should Go in an ADHD Digital Planner?
Start with 12 to 15 core pages and stop. More pages isn’t more value, it’s more overwhelm. Here’s my starter layout:
- Cover and “how to use this” page (one screen, five lines max)
- Brain dump page
- Weekly overview with a big “main focus” box
- Daily page: top 3, a short task list, a “next tiny step” box, water and meds-neutral self-care checklist
- Time blocking page with 30-minute blocks
- Habit tracker with big circles
- Routine builder for morning and evening
- Weekly reset page
- “I fell off” restart page with three simple questions
- Notes pages, lined and dotted
- Monthly calendar
- Goal breakdown page: big goal, three smaller steps, one next action
Keep wording kind and neutral. Avoid claims like “fix your ADHD” or “cure procrastination”. You’re selling a planning tool, so describe it as that. Etsy also has its own rules on health claims, so keep your listing language about planning and organizing.
How Do You Make an ADHD Digital Planner in Canva?
You make it in Canva by setting a tablet-sized page, building one clean template for each page type, linking everything with hyperlinks, then exporting as a PDF. Here’s the process.
- Create a custom size. 1620 x 2160 px works for most tablets (portrait). Landscape works too if your buyers use iPads horizontally.
- Pick 2 fonts and 3 to 4 soft colors. Keep contrast readable. High-contrast, calm palettes work better than busy ones.
- Build the daily page first. It’s the heart of the product. If it looks too busy, delete things until it feels light.
- Duplicate and adjust for weekly, monthly, tracker and notes pages.
- Add a tab bar on the side or top with page names (Home, Daily, Weekly, Habits, Reset).
- Hyperlink the tabs. Select the tab text, press Ctrl+K, and in the link box choose the page from the “Pages” list. Do this on each page.
- Export as PDF Standard and test the links on your own tablet in GoodNotes.

How Do You Sell an ADHD Digital Planner on Etsy?
You sell it by listing the planner as an instant download, using your focus keyword in the title, and showing real page previews in your photos. Etsy buyers shop with their eyes first, so the images carry the listing.
Checklist for the listing:
- Title: put the main phrase first, e.g. “ADHD Digital Planner | Hyperlinked GoodNotes Planner | Undated Daily Weekly Planner”. Use my guide on Etsy SEO for digital products for the title and tag structure.
- Photos: 8 to 10 images. Cover, daily page, weekly page, trackers, “what’s included”, “how to use”, and a short GIF or video of the tabs working.
- Description: what’s included, file format, what devices it works on, what apps to use, and a clear “no physical item shipped” line.
- Price: $8 to $15 for a simple planner, $15 to $25 for a bigger bundle. My post on how to price digital products on Etsy goes through how to test it.
- Fees: factor in listing and transaction fees before you set the price. I broke them down in my Etsy fees for digital products post.
For a visual way to show your planner inside a tablet frame, read digital product mockups in Canva.
If Etsy isn’t your only plan, my post on how to sell digital products without Etsy shows how to use your own store. I use Systeme.io for that because it handles the page, checkout and email in one place.
How Do You Stand Out From Other ADHD Planners?
Pick a narrower buyer than “everyone with ADHD”. The shops that stand out tend to name a specific person or situation: students, working parents, small business owners, freelancers, or people who hate rigid schedules.
Ways to narrow it:
- By role: “ADHD planner for freelancers”, “ADHD planner for moms”, “ADHD student planner”
- By style: minimal, colorful, dark mode, pastel
- By system: time-blocking, task batching, weekly reset
- By device: GoodNotes, Notability, Samsung Notes, or printable PDF
A narrower title also makes it easier to rank. “ADHD digital planner” alone is tough. “ADHD digital planner for small business owners” has less competition and a buyer who feels seen.

Can You Use a Free Sample Planner as a Lead Magnet?
Yes, and it’s the smartest move for beginners. Give away a free 3-page starter set (brain dump, daily top 3, weekly reset) in exchange for an email, then offer the full planner in the welcome sequence.
Why this works: Etsy doesn’t give you your customers’ emails. A free sample on your own page does. Then you can sell future planners (and the next three products) without paying Etsy fees every time. My post on how to build an email list from scratch shows the setup, and LeadCreator is one option if you want a tool made for lead magnets.
Here’s a video showing how I made a first digital product with no budget:
A Realistic Weekend Plan (60 to 90 Minutes a Day)
You don’t need a month. Here’s a plan that fits around a busy life:
- Day 1: Decide your narrow buyer and list the 12 pages.
- Day 2: Design the daily page until it feels calm.
- Day 3: Duplicate into weekly, monthly, trackers and notes.
- Day 4: Add tabs and hyperlinks, export, test on a tablet.
- Day 5: Make listing images and a short preview video.
- Day 6: Write title, tags and description. Publish the listing.
- Day 7: Create a free 3-page sample and put it on a landing page.
